This project was created for the #346 Articulate E-Learning Challenge. The task this time was to use an anthropomorphic character. Anthropomorphism simply means attributing human characteristics to animals and non-living objects.
While traveling in Ukraine, I came across Lev, the mascot for the city Lviv in the western part of Ukraine. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to have him show points of interest around the city.
Furthermore, I was also looking for an opportunity to use the new360° Image feature inside Storyline.
I started by taking 360° images and recording short clips around the city. Once I had the images, I was looking for an illustration of a lion for the Lev character. I created different poses and facial expressions in Affinity Designer when I found the right vector image.
I also wanted to embed the character within the 360° images, so I edited the images with Affinity Photo.
To create an immersive interaction where the learner would zoom into the city, I made short animations with Google Earth Studio and saved them as gifs. Once I had all the images, gifs, and clips, I brought everything together in Storyline.
I had a lot of fun creating this demo. Especially taking the images and clips was a fun experience as I usually wouldn't use the panorama function on my phone. It was also the first time I edited 360°images in Affinity Photo, and I was surprised how easy it actually is.
